For ZTF, we divide forming section into breakdown section and fin-pass section. ZTF technology is used in breakdown section. Only one set of roller is needed to produce all round pipe within the range (weigh around 60% of the entire mill rollers). When producing different sized pipe, only change rollers during fin pass section & sizing section, therefore saving significant roller cost and increase productivity.
The latest generation ZTF technique(ZTF4) allows fully automatic adjustment of roller position during break-down section with minimum to none need of manual adjustment, significantly improve productivity while reducing labor maintenance cost and risk of hazard. The control system utilizes close-loop servo control to assure the accuracy and stability of roller positions.
